I go on and on in the gym about how you need to make contact with the barbell with your hips during the snatch. It's a scary proposition for some (guys more than ladies sometimes). But it's important. It's the second most important thing about the snatch. Right after a strong lockout.
Here is video of Morghan King performing a snatch. Look at how much power she transfers into the barbell by violently squeezing her glutes and making contact with her hips.
Next time you hear me telling you to "Hit your hips" this is what I mean!
