There are no secrets in health, wellness or fitness. There is no undiscovered miracle food or special workout regime that will add years to your life. The secret to a healthy long life is common sense.
Eat whole food and avoid sugar
What we put into our bodies is more important than exercise for reaching wellness. Eating whole foods like meat, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and fruit should be the staples of our everyday diet. Don't fret too much over quantity, and avoid sugar as much as you can.
You can stop watching Dr. Oz or reading whatever newsstand magazine that promises the latest health secret. Those people just want to sell advertising, they don't care about what actually makes you healthy.
Train 3-4 Days a week
We recommend peforming constantly varied functional movements at high intensity 3-4 days a week. This is all your body needs to continue improving your fitness for a lifetime.
You don't need to spend hours a day in the gym. Get in and out in an hour and keep the intensity high. Lift heavy weights at least once a week, and do a longer medium to low intensity workout every once in a while.
Getting outside is good for you. The vitamin D from the sun, and the fresh air can do amazing things to improve mood. By getting outside to see the world, you get a chance to use your fitness.
Getting outside also gives you an opportunity to have some fun. Many of us work too much, and give our time to other people more than maybe we should. Spend some time outside seeing the world around you, getting some Vitamin D, and having fun. We could all use a little more fun in our lives, and with increased health and fitness you can take full advantage of your ability to have fun.
