Giving your time, energy and talents is hard. Being generous with most anything is really hard, but it is one of the most rewarding activities you can engage in. It’s challenging but the potential for personal growth is immense.

In my mind improvement is growth. Growth isn’t easy and often requires us to be stretched, and one of the best ways to stretch yourself is to be generous. Generosity opens up opportunities to make a tangible difference in the lives of the people around you. While rewarding, these opportunities can often be scary and challenging. A lot like lifting a heavy weight over your head.

Give more than expected. Give because it feels good. Give because it’s hard. Give because it makes you a better person, and do so without looking for recognition.

The physical/mental challenges in the gym are practice for the real challenges in life. Every day we get a little better at being brave and living with a little bit of fear. Apply that training everyday you’ll continue to see improvements both in and out of the gym.

You’re an amazing person with a lot to offer. Do something scary and share what you have with others to make their lives that much better and to help you grow.
