Goals are important. It's not always important that you reach them but it's important that you have them. They give you something to work toward and keep you progressing. Not everyone is great at setting goals or at setting goals that are helpful in pushing you toward progress. This is why we help our members set S.M.A.R.T. goals.
There is a hierarchy of importance when it comes to nutrition. Most importantly is the quality of the food you eat. Secondly, it matters how much food you eat. Thirdly it matters what the ratios of protein, carbohydrate, and fat you consume. Then way down at the fourth most important aspect of nutrition is what is known as nutrient timing.
I recently finished up our first New You Challenge. I’m not going to lie, I was nervous. Nervous about how well people would do, and nervous about having to pinch people’s fat. Luckily, I got a couple of ladies that were amazing to work with, and really enjoyed the process. The program included four weeks of eating whole foods, and three days a week of working out.
You are more than just your body. You have a mind and a soul and we would be remiss if we did not talk about their health. Just like training the body there are many different exercises we can do but also in a similar fashion to how we train our bodies we want to spend most of our time working with the most effective exercises. One of the most effective practices we can incorporate into our daily lives is the practice of mindfulness.
